During tenure of six months students learn skills necessary for a career in creative industries. Orientation programme aims to introduce basic design concepts which enable students from varied backgrounds to reach a standard benchmark for further progression. Accordingly, inputs are provided into core areas of development of basic design and visual perception.
These includes illustration, object drawing, nature drawing, color application, technical drawing, geometry along with photography and merchandising techniques. Introduction to woodwork, metal work, jewellery, ceramics, fabric, and glass are incorporated for hands on experience.
The course begins with an exploratory stage, during which basic skills of drawing, use of media, ideas development and color are emphasized concentrating on drawing, painting and simple 3D model making. Undertaking a broad range of projects, specialist pathway follow from the strengths displayed.
The programme builds up an understanding and awareness of the design industry in both national and international contexts. Methodology is followed by lectures, tutorials, practical projects and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) applications in order to improve generic skills, modules on computers, communication skills, and research methods are been taught.
The course gives students an opportunity to experiment and confidence to explore their individual capabilities. Combination of two is executed in their creative projects endeavors. Students frame their own project beliefs and demonstration. An attitude to work independently is developed.
