Indian handicraft export is among the top five earners and Rajasthan alone accounts for 10% of the total export from India. The production base of accessories has shifted to countries such as India due to cost effective labor and easy availability of raw materials. Application of contemporary designs in accessories gives value-addition and enhances the quality of life.
COURSE
The course develops competence in basic skills and understanding of the process and principles involved in designing and manufacturing of lifestyle accessories. Strategic designing with an insight into materials, science and methodology develops competence to adopt a realistic design approach. The course envisages work opportunities in related industries and self owned enterprises by addressing design, management, marketing, retailing and technology.COURSE CONTENTS
The curriculum allows the students to visualize and conceptualize designs with an in depth understanding of materials, processes and technology. The program addresses management process, which converts concepts into commercial reality. Material Study, Design Process and Surface Ornamentation, Manufacturing with Export Management and Marketing are taught in the course.CAREER PROSPECTS
