Commissioner, DCH, visits ARCH
Commissioner, Development Commissioner, Handicrafts, Mr S S Gupta, visited ARCH as a part of the 3 day visit to Jaipur. He inspected the developments in the program sanctioned by DCH- Training through Established Institutions in Fashion Accessories in Terra Cotta, Metal, Leather, Wood and Textile Craft. This is a 5 year long project and ARCH is in the 3rd year of its execution.

ARCH begins Need Assessment Survey and Design Awareness Program with jewelry cluster in the old city
ARCH is empanelled with NID and MSME to conduct the Design Clinic Scheme for the jewelry cluster in Jaipur. In joint collaboration with Access Development Services, Jaipur and Jan Kala Sahitya Manch Sanstha (JKSMS), under JJADE Project, ARCH inaugurated its Need Assessment Survey and Design Awareness Program under the Design Clinic Scheme, with the jewelers in the old city. The need assessment survey is the second part of the Design Clinic scheme. ARCH had conducted the first part- a design awareness seminar in January, where noted jewelers from the industry spoke along side MSME and NID officials. This survey shall review the existing infrastructure and potential of the jewelers and develop their business through design led development, in the coming week and conclude with a design workshop.

Entrepreneurship & Skill Development in Artificial Jewelry
A 6 week module programme is held at Arch Academy
of Design by Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises from 9.02.2011 on artificial
jewelry. The students had 2 week module on Entrepreneurship & 4 week module on
Artificial Jewelry. The students were taught about basic knitty gritties of
artificial jewelry to making Project Report. Certificates were distributed by Mr
Ambore, Director MSME on 13th April 2011.

Industrial Motivation Camp
An industrial Motivation Camp was organised by Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises to empower young students towards entrepreneurship. The key speakers of the event were R.S.Shekawat, Textile Engineer & Consultant, T.K Nag, Retired Assistant General Manager, SBBJ Bank, Ajay Sharma, Assistant Director, MSME, Archana Surana, Director, ARCH and Mukesh Gujjar, Deputy Manager, National Small Industries Corporation. All speakers talked about various prevailing government Schemes like Prime Minister Gram Swarojgar Yojna, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Programmes. They also talked about loans & funding assistance in various projects.

Seminar on Design Clinic Scheme
ARCH organized a seminar on Design Sensitization Seminar on Materials, Methods and Trends: The Jewellery Industry in associations with MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise) and NID (National Institute of Design, Ahmadabad) under the Design Clinic scheme of Govt. of India. Prominent Jewelers and representatives from the industry participated in it to and got acquainted about the Design Clinic Scheme- showcasing the importance of design in the growth of the industry.

Skill Development Training Program at Sujangarh (Churu)
45 Days skill Development Training Program sanctioned by RUDA was conducted by Arch Academy at Sujangarh from 11.02.2010 to 27.03.2010. 25 Rural artisans participated in it. The beneficiaries were trained in Tie & Dye work the objective of the training program was skill upgradation for qualitative & quantitative improvement in production.

Seminar on Basics of Interior Design course, by MSME
30 days program on Basic of Interior Design was conducted by Micro Small Medium Enterprise, on 15.02.2010, (Govt. of India) under the ESDP scheme at ARCH campus. 25 participants were trained for same.

SGSY Special Project
RUDA organized a 30 days design dissemination training program from 03.07.2010 under SGSY scheme at Udaipur & Rajsamand districts. To camps were organized in each district. Four students of Arch Academy participated in the program and provided training to the artisans in the camps. The object of the program was development of prototypes in Meenakari in association with weaver’s clusters approved by RUDA.

Skill up gradation program for artisans
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of Rajasthan inaugurated Artisans Training Program, sponsored by Development Commissioner of Handicrafts, Ministry of Textile, Govt. of India, under the HRD scheme.120 Artisans will be trained in the Fashion Accessory programs namely Textile, Leather, Metal, Wood & Terracotta Craft every year for five consecutive years.
