University of Rajasthan
The University of Rajputana was promulgated on January 8,1947. The
University of Rajputana had jurisdiction over the entire state of
Rajasthan except the region of Ajmer, which was under the jurisdiction
of Agra University. The merger of Ajmer with Rajasthan in 1559 brought
this region under the jurisdiction of the University of Rajputana and
the University was re-named as the University of Rajasthan. The
University now exercises powers conferred upon it by the University Act
throughout the territory of Rajasthan, subject to the provision of the
Ajmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur Universities.
The University is conscious of the fact that it has to keep pace with changes occurring globally, nationally and provincially.
