The 3 years. Jewelry Design Course is structured to provide technical expertise in Jewelry Design, Gemology, Jewelry Manufacturing along with relevant design sensibilities to be able to step into the professional jewelry industry. The course enables awareness of the Socio-Cultural and contextual influences on jewelry, essential in understanding and sustenance of our Indian aesthetic signature. Business studies along with Jewelry Design skills empower the learner to work as a Jewelry Business professional in the industry.
The programme promotes creative design and thinking about jewellery design and its related aspects. With a strong focus on innovative approaches, students embark on an exploration of materials and are challenged to question traditional notions of adornment. The objects they make within ARCH’s specialised workshops reflect jewellery’s rich heritage, with a special focus on embracing contemporary ideas, materials and technologies. Whether it is by hand, machine or digital technologies, students are encouraged to find their own creative language of expression interpreted through an ever-expanding viewpoint of the possibilities of what jewellery can be.
Students in this programme are supported via individual tuition and group discussion with a team of talented faculty, technical demonstrators and visiting professionals, each with their own creative practice and expertise in the field. Live briefs throughout the programme and a specialised on the job training element of the programme prepares students to launch a career in the creative industry as jewellers and designers.
