Design Culture Learning Series 5 - Creativity 5.0
The Design Culture Learning Series (DCLS), an initiative by ARCH College of Design & Business, marked its fifth consecutive year of thought leadership in design education. Based on the overarching theme FORM.REFORM.TRANSFORM. It focuses on four relevant subthemes: Creativity 5.0, Society 5.0, Harmonious Livability, and Design Leadership. The ongoing sessions aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry by inviting professionals to engage with students, educators, and design practitioners.
The series began with the subtheme Creativity 5.0, featuring the following speakers:
Abhirup Dutta – Architect and founder of The Vernacular Modern, Abhirup opened the series with a session on “Reviving Vernacular Crafts: Blending Heritage with Modern Design Practice”, highlighting the importance of cultural continuity in design.
Gaurav Jai Gupta – Textile and fashion designer, and founder of Akaaro, presented “Sustainable by Design: Integrating Ecology into Textile Innovation”, exploring sustainable material and design solutions.
Sudha Chandani Khatri – Renowned portrait photographer and Canon influencer, Sudha led a dynamic session on “Portrait Photography: How to Click Magazine-Style Portraits of Everyday Women”, celebrating everyday beauty through visual storytelling.
DCLS continues to promote meaningful dialogue, empowering students, educators, and professionals to lead the creative industries with innovation and cultural relevance.
