A widely travelled and noted speaker, she represents theinstitution at various International & National forums likeInternational Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes(IFFTI), Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) and World DesignOrganisation (WDO) & CUMULUS.
She sits on the board of various National and Internationalindustrial and philantrophic organizations. She is a CharterMember and EC Member of TiE, Rajasthan. An Invitee Memberof the State Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), Rajasthan for 10 years. She is the Member of the NationalGoverning Board of the FICCI Ladies Organization, FLO for last 2years. She is part of the core team of the SAARC Chamber WomenEntrepreneur Council (SCWEC), 2016 and as an active Rotarianshe has served at various district levels positions since 2005.A US State Department Alumni and Fortune Mentee, she is VitalVoices Inaugural Lead Fellow & Founder of Women MentorsForum Jaipur. She has organized the Vital Voices, GlobalMentoring Walk consecutively for 8 years. Recent addition for thewalk is New Delhi & Udaipur besides Jaipur as the Flag Bearer
She presented a Project proposal at the "Fashion Colloquia " in2013 at the London College of Fashion (LCF) at London under theauspices of IFFTI. She was a key note speaker at the Universityof Antwerp, Belgium for the "Non Western Fashion Conference"in 2016. She was invited on a panel of "Global Conversation inCultural Managment & Policy" at Brussels -Belgium during the25th ENCATC Congress in October 2017.
She is a Post Graduate with a Professional Diploma course inFashion Design from South Delhi Polytechnic for Women, NewDelhi. Apart from a Professional course in Contour Fashionfrom De Montfort University in the UK, she has also completedspecialized courses in Fashion Merchandising & Pattern Makingfrom the ATDC as well as a Computer Aided Fashion Illustrationcourse from the NIFT, New Delhi. She has learned chronic healingand practices Vipasana Meditation. Her hobby is playing GolfA learner and an explorer of new concepts and ideologies shehas attended various National and International Workshops. Theyinclude the Executive Program on Growth & Entrepreneurshipat the Indian School of Business (ISB); the CHANCE workshopby GIZ on Strategic Planning and Financial Management ofBusinesswomen's Associations; the workshop on "Design forPersuasion: Creating Dynamic, Multi-Sensory Experiences forCustomer Delight" at the NID, Ahmedabad.
She is the proprietor of ARCH Apparel Exports and has donebusiness with Switzerland and America. She has re-started theapparel business in the Apparel Park at Jaipur, furnishing for thedomestic and International market.
She received the Yuva Icon Award in 2010 from Former PresidentDr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam and has also received the prestigious IndiraGandhi Priyadarshini Award for her exemplary achievements inthe field of education.
Priyanka Baweja has completed Jewellery Design and Fabrication course from JPDC Jaipur and IIGJ Mumbai and has 21 years of experience in academics and industry. Along with Gem and Jewellery Education, she holds Diploma in Advanced Computer Arts from National Multimedia Resource Centre, Pune, Masters in Anthropology, PGHCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education) from Nottingham Trent University, Online Hybrid, and Blended Education from Laureate International Universities and at present pursuing her Ph.D on “Traditional Indian jewellery craft” from Dept. of Anthropology, Rajasthan University. She is a Certified Trainer for Product Development Manager and Jewellery Retailing by GJSCI and was a team member in ABHUSHAN Craft Exchange Program Workshop by the World Craft Council and Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India for reviving traditional Indian jewellery crafts. She has been part of the jury for several national and international level jewellery design competitions and has also presented papers in International Conference. She is also a member of International Sociological Association (ISA RC13) and one of the editors of the recently published book “Positive Sociology of Leisure – Contemporary Perspectives”, Palgrave McMillan. She contributed a chapter on “Doodling: A positive creative leisure practice”. Her area of interest is finding interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities for design and creating a space where design, anthropology, and sociology meets with an objective to make a difference in people’s lives through design education.
