ARCH College of Design & Business proudly announced its students’
achievement of securing the Third Prize at the Handloom
Fashion Show during the 11th National Handloom Day celebrations in Jaipur.
The prestigious event, conducted by the Weaver’s Service Centre
in collaboration with the Rajasthan State Handloom Development
Corporation, was held at the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj
& Gramin Vikas Sansthan. It brought together creative talent from
across the region, each showcasing the beauty, versatility, and relevance of
handloom in contemporary fashion.
The winning presentation by ARCH students was lauded for its thoughtful
design narrative—fusing traditional weaving techniques with modern
silhouettes to create garments that were both culturally rooted and
forward-looking. This innovative approach reflected the institution’s ethos of
honouring India’s craft heritage while encouraging experimental thinking.
Founder & Director Archana Surana congratulated the
students, stating, “This win is a testament to the dedication, creativity,
and cultural sensitivity of our students. At ARCH, we believe in empowering
young designers to reimagine tradition for a sustainable future.”
Through such achievements, ARCH College continues to strengthen its role in
promoting sustainable design education, equipping students to contribute to the
preservation and evolution of India’s rich handloom legacy.
