ARCH College Marks 26th Foundation Day with Women in Design Awards
ARCH College of Design & Business celebrated its 26th Foundation Day with the “Women in Design – Artisanal Excellency Awards,” honouring women artisans and promoting craft-led innovation. The event brought together dignitaries, designers, artisans, and students to celebrate India’s rich craft heritage and its evolving role in the creative economy.
Founder & Director Archana Surana highlighted ARCH’s commitment to empowering artisan communities through design education and innovation. The programme featured a student performance, “Roots vs Reels,” reflecting the dialogue between tradition and modernity, along with insightful panel discussions on craft, culture, and entrepreneurship.
Women artisans across diverse crafts—including block printing, blue pottery, jewellery, and embroidery—were recognised for their contributions. The celebration also included a student fashion showcase and the launch of the Handmade Jewellery Awards poster.
The event reaffirmed ARCH’s vision of connecting tradition, design, and sustainable livelihoods.
