4th International Non Western Fashion Conference (NWFC) University of Antwerp, Belgium 24th -26th November 2016

NWFC operates within a new fashion paradigm where the Designers, Academicians & Students from all over the world gather.

Our Founder & Director, Ms. Archana Surana is a Key note Speaker at the Conference. The 4th edition of NWFC, will focus on alternatives of western-dominant framework and bridge the gap between cultural studies and fashion management, and between studies of European and non-European fashion systems. Different themes will be discussed such as ‘how to build a distinct local fashion identity’, ‘how to keep manufacturing and distribution local and/or sustainable’ and ‘how to offer an alternative to the international fashion powerhouses’ NWFC participants study fashion in a holistic, cross-cultural and relativistic way, thus disrupting the simple, oppositional, essentialist thinking that characterizes conventional fashion studies.

Three of our Fashion Students are also presenting a Research Papers at NWFC.
