Smita Mankad is the Governing Council member for the Creative Dignity project. A movement that has brought together diverse creative producers, practitioners and professionals to energize the ecosystem that Indian artisans need in face of COVID-19. ARCH is proud that our students realize the need to revive and renew time-honored indigenous skills & craft knowledge and practices bringing beneficial developments and changes to rural livelihood through thought and action.
Creative Dignity is an unprecedented movement that addresses the challenges being faced by 200 million artisans across India due to the pandemic. Driven by leaders from the creative manufacturing sector - they aim to provide vital support for the creative lifeline of India.177 student volunteers from ARCH have been interacting with artisans & craft mapping as a part of their ongoing internship.
