ARCH College & Weavers Service Centre (WSC)- Jaipur Sign MoU to uplift Indian textile through fashion education
ARCH College of Design & Business and Weavers Service Centre-Jaipur, a center of excellence under the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India has signed a MoU. The MoU signed by Mrs. Archana Surana, the founder and director of ARCH College, and Mr. Tapan Sharma, Deputy Director of WSC to work together in a number of areas for the betterment of art-n-craft, textile and fashion design students in Jaipur.
1. Summer Camp for creative professionals on
diverse weaving techniques.
2. 1-3 months Internship to students of Jaipur's Design colleges at WSC, Jaipur.
3. ARCH College will conduct workshops and training sessions on weaving, printing, dyeing, and other textile ornamentation techniques, with active participation from WSC faculty.
4. Entrepreneurship in Textile Weaving Craft will be encouraged as a
new career option for trainees.
Also, Weavers’ Service Centre Jaipur will start a certificate course in Textile related stream “Traditional and Innovative Handloom Techniques”.
