The second day of the Erasmus+ Co-LIFE Pilot 2 workshop at ARCH College of Design & Business focused on inter-cultural understanding, design thinking, and future-ready creative skills, bringing together participants from partner institutions across India, Finland, Belgium, and Denmark.
An Inter-Cultural Workshop was conducted to introduce participants to the concept of culture in varied contexts and examine how cultural perspectives influence organisations, work environments, and individual behaviour. The session encouraged dialogue and collaboration among international students, faculty members, and academic leaders.
As part of the academic programme, Taina Vuorela, Principal Lecturer at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, Finland, conducted a session on Design Thinking, presenting it as a structured approach to addressing complex challenges. Her session highlighted creative problem-solving, collaboration, and adaptability as key competencies for future professionals.
Archana Surana, Founder & Director of ARCH College of Design & Business, led a session on ‘Creative Competencies of the Future’, linking design education with social innovation and impact-led practices. The presentation covered Social Design, Communication Design, Sustainable Design, and Product Design, supported by Jaipur-based industry case studies, providing participants with real-world context.
Following the sessions, participants initiated research on the Jaipur-based case owners associated with the Co-LIFE project, gaining insights to understand their business models, practices, and challenges, as a preparatory step for field visits. This research phase will lead to upcoming field visits on the 3rd day of the workshop, where participants will engage directly with industry partners and communities to develop practical, impact-driven solutions.
The second day of the Co-LIFE Pilot 2 reinforced the importance of cross-cultural collaboration, experiential learning, and design-led problem-solving in shaping globally relevant education.
