Course Intent

The curriculum consists of Foundation in Design units and Product Design specific units, each with a clear purpose and content aligned with the needs of the respective professional industry. The project based curriculum engages students in practical, interpersonal and thinking skills, providing a professional environment for learning.

Course Content

The programme encourages learners to participate in a Product Design Entrepreneurial setup, apply knowledge and practical understanding of product, processes, supply chain, retail management, market and trends etc. parts that are integral to an enterprise. The ARCH Business Incubator in the campus will provide enterprise management training and networking support for the start-ups initiated by the learner.

The curriculum encompasses various skill based and industrybased learning experiences ranging from internship, skill development workshops, industrial projects,visits to industries along with participation at various design exhibition and events.

This programme focuses more on practical aspects of learning and proper implementation of acquired set of skills. Entrepreneurial skills are inculcated in students and students will be supervised by college and government if they initiate their own enterprise or business.

Introduction to Product Design

Human Factors & Research Methodology, Entrepreneurship, Product Design Process, Materials, Techniques and Process, Project Management, Trends Research, Analysis & Forecasting, Environmental studies in Design, Product design and Development -1

Year 2

Building on Foundational Skills

Product Production systems, Accelerator Programme & Design workshops, Industry Internship, Incubation, Product Design and Development -2, Dissertation & Portfolio

Business Incubation

Business Incubation: The course culminates with inputs on entrepreneurship and developing a Business Plan for individual enterprise. Selected business plans will be provided an opportunity of incubation with ARCH Business Incubation, where the project will be guided by faculty and mentored by industry expert.
